This is my very first blog post and it`s been already five days that I have started my internship at Maluti Communications. On my first day I was introduced to the other partners of the agency and I was glad to see that two classmates were also making their internships there. The first day was very relaxed and there was not much to do, except to find information on the new Chief Financial Officer of Ireland Blyth Ltd (IBL), Mr Dipak Chummun. I was really surprised to see so many corporate and financial reports in a communication agency as I thought it was much more about events and less formal communication.
In fact, Maluti Communications is much more involved in corporate and financial communications rather than creating events like other communication agencies in Mauritius. The agency has as clients one of the most important company in Mauritius that is IBL and also other companies such as CIEL group, Inicia, Harel Mallac group, Manser Saxon, Rose Hill Transport Holding Ltd and Scott & Co. Ltd. The agency is also involved in some pro bono activities and help some charity foundations such as Caritas Mauritius and Global Rainbow Foundation (GRF). Since 2003, Maluti Communications has been working with the top companies in Mauritius and is really well known in the corporate sector.
On my second work day I was assigned the task to research for new and innovative ways of presenting annual and quarterly reports as they are preparing a presentation for the major client of the agency and its new Chief Financial Officer.
At first I found it a very easy task and was very enthusiast. Finally, I realised that it took me around two days to finish the work assigned to me as I had to search and analyse around 25 different reports so as to be able to find innovative one that will suit the client.
After doing the research, I did not know how to present it and then I told myself why not compiling all the examples in the form of a media clipping. It was quite strange to make clippings of annual reports instead of media articles as it is more about graphs and numbers. However, I did find some good ideas that were taken into consideration by my colleagues working on the project and even some were presented to the clients.
Below is a print screen of the clipping I have done. Take a look... (too many charts and numbers!)

For the time being everything is perfect and am very enthusiast to learn more on corporate and financial communication.
All the best to those starting their internships.
