I finished my internship a while ago. However, I decided to wait for a few weeks until I was done with my report.
I thought it would be a good exercise to actually cover the report section in one of my blogs.
So, here I am, done with my report. Ready to submit.
There are a few things i learnt while writing my report. One of the very first things I realised was I was very fortunate enough to document everything I did at the office. This helped me with my report a lot of times.
There were times when I had a small break from my report, and had lost the touch of the work I did. But when I came back to the report, I realised the documentation of the work I did was the best thing I had done.
I also started to realise the real reason behind writing the long long report. (Although it doesn't seem very long when you see the content you have to fill in.) The real reason, according to me, behind writing the report was the know for yourself as what you have actually learnt through the internship.
It was not until I started with the report did I realise how much I had learnt. I will make it a habit to write a long report or a long letter to myself after I have done something very important. It is only after writing it down do you realise the depth in it.
Another thing I realised while writing the report was how many things we grasp in but goes into our subconscious mind. It is there, always there somewhere in your mind, you just cannot place it when you need it.
So if you cannot remember anything you have done, but you know you have done it, just ask. The supervisors are well adapted to the interns emailing and calling them all the time about various things. So don't be afraid, just ask, they won't bite you. (I hope!)
