Well what a fantastic start to my internship at Muse Bureau! Day one and I'm already excited for what's to come.
The day began at 10am with the two directors and the three interns meeting at the office located on a picturesque street in Mt Lawley. Coffee was a must to prepare us for what lay ahead so we all took the short walk down to Beaufort St.
Getting down to business, myself and my fellow interns were briefed on what kind of actitivities we would be assisting with during our time at Muse Bureau. Some of these included collecting and valuing media clippings for various clients, writing reports and assisting with photoshoots and various other events throughout the semester. This was enough to get us all looking forward to getting stuck into some hard work!
The directors explained to us the range of events that will be taking place during our time at Muse Bureau. Some of these include; various premieres for productions by Perth Theatre Company and Perth Fashion Festival. The prospect of assisting on such great projects was amazing!
After we had heard about our general roles and responsibilities, myself and fellow intern Sophie were set off on a mission. We had to go out and source various props that were needed for the photoshoot we would be assisting on that very afternoon... (I know, awesome way to kick off our internship!!) From Bunnings to the chemist to antique military stores, we managed to gather everything that was needed.
After lunch, Sophie and I set off with one of the directors to the location for the shoot. We arrived at a beautiful mansion in City Beach to shoot the poster and programme images for one of Perth Theatre Company's up and coming plays - Tender Napalm.
Sophie and I assisted throughout the shoot and contributed our ideas which were gladly taken on board.
Working with an amazing photographer, actors and director was an amazing experience and the best possible way to begin my professional placement.
Muse Bureau promises to provide a fun and exciting internship and I can't wait to see what lies ahead!
