I want to pose the question: Do you think your intern organisation has good social media accounts?
I think it so important that organisations are constantly updating there social media and are up to date with content and style that people want to read! Before I started my internship I wanted to know all about my organisation.
I was very impressed when I googled them however a little stunned about the lack of movement on there Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It was out of date and did not appeal to the wider demographics of people that use social media.
Social media is a vital tool in selling and creating your brand - something that should express enthusiasm and passion from your organisation.
Content needs to be fresh and appealing to who you are trying to target. I feel that our 'Y' generation are born experts in this field and enter the workforce always pro's at social media.
The power of social media needs to be taken advantage of and public relations has the perfect line of work to do this. It was good to see that my organisation was working on a social media plan that recognises the need to incorporate the latest snapshots from campaigns.
To conclude, never underestimate the power of social media for your organisation. If you do become PR professionals make sure this is an aspect that is targeted amongst client strategies.
