Public Relations you say ? #PR_ethics #goals #internship

Hola beautiful people!
I guess all of you must be struggling just like me between assignments and internship at this time of the year. Well let me tell you more about the place where I work in or at least, survive !
Ile de France is a bakery situated in one of the hottest regions in Mauritius, Rose-Hill.
Not only is the weather hot, but the atmosphere as well, as I work in the office, I need to ensure that not only is my work being done properly but also make sure everyone is doing their's properly.
See, the thing when working in a big and reputed bakery is that multitasking should be your best friend.
I have somehow managed to make sure people have understood the purpose of my presence, because lets face it, we are the lucky ones. Yeah lucky !! Why? Why is she saying lucky??
Lucky because we are the sign of fresh blood in a company, we have learnt about the importance of Public Relations practice in a business, all the fresh ideas and theories we have spend endless nights learning about are ready to be implemented in the work place.
One of the amazing concepts about Ile-de-France is that it has its loyal customers who are very friendly and enjoy the environment where they come and purchase bread as well as spending time to talk about politics, football or even what they cooked last night, isn't that cute ?
However, I found out, thanks to my public relations skills, that several things can be improved in the bakery, because let's face it, even the sky is not the limit ! I have already imagined all the skills that could be applied in this environment where bread brings people together !
Another great concept about Ile-de-France is that its workers are from India, well not all of them, but most of them, not because Mauritian people are lazy, but because no one wants to bake cakes anymore, yes everybody is getting involved in a career of their own and building their own businesses that no one wants to make amazing cakes in a bakery, well if it was not for Public Relations I would have developed my baking skills.
The workers create a homely atmosphere, I had a few words with them, and there are amazing new projects coming up, stay updated folks !

WOW Katherina you sound like you have landed yourself in a super dynamic and multi cultural workplace!

Diversity in the workplace to me is so exciting. There is so much to learn from so many people with different backgrounds and stories!

Seeing potential in and a company is super important. The future becomes exciting and it helps us remain focused in achieving corporate goals, and with baked treats in hand I'm sure the sky really isn't the limit to generating some brilliant PR ideas!

Good luck with the progress.
Gab.

Hello Gaby,
Thank you for your comment ! Indeed it has been an amazing experience so far, working with people of different cultural backgrounds and mindset has expanded my knowledge and I hope to apply and use this knowledge in my career. It was very challenging yet public relations is a tool if used properly, can do wonders !
Indeed I saw a lot of potential in the company this is why I decided to take everything in hand and do the best I can out of these 20 days ! It was fascinating as I was not only learning but growing at the same time. There were several moments when I had to decide what should be done and when it should be done, for example, once I remember asking the manager about setting up a social page for his company, he was quite reluctant but when I explained to him about how it can improve his image and his sales (in other words a platform of digital marketing), he agreed.
Today we receive at least 15 messages per day on social media from clients all over the island! I would say the present and future are both thrilling as we are PR professionals ! Everything should be exciting !

Wishing you all the best,
Katherina Canarapen
