For many amongst us, this 20-day internship is coming to an
end. While some are more than happy to get back to their normal lives, others
are sad of saying goodbye to their new friends and leaving behind this new routine
of getting up early to reach the office. And, there is ME:
Drum Rolls...
Drum Rolls...
The Move For Art Ltd people are going to tolerate me for the
many more months to come!
I bagged that place!
I bagged that place!
Interning in this firm has been a fruitful experience for it
shaped me into a more responsible young lady and has without any doubt proved
that I have made a good, perhaps, the best career choice. (Though sometimes I have to keep aside my heels to run in the streets of
the capital of Mauritius, Port-Louis, so as to complete duties which popped-up 5
minutes earlier).
True, one broadens his or her knowledge within the four
walls of classrooms and can make “Impossibles” to “Possibles” under the
guidance of lecturers. Nonetheless, absolutely nothing equals the internship
journey and experience one gains on the working field.
From doing printings, to carrying out researches, to
contributing to the Newsletter, to writing social media contents, to mounting presentation
slides, to finally accompanying my superiors during important partnership sessions,
I must admit that I have been involved in many exciting projects.
Each and every tasks I have undertaken have reinforced my
pride in majoring in the Communications and Public Relations. As much as, I enjoyed
doing my PR assignments, especially the written tasks, be it Press Releases,
Media Kits, Backgrounders, Social Media Posts, throughout my internship, this
love for communications tasks have kept on increasing but, I also developed a
certain love for networking: Something that we are not taught at university and
which is of great importance for to-be PR professionals. Meeting new faces and
getting their interest towards your organisation is one of my new ardors.
Even though, my time at Move For Art Ltd seems smooth, I did
encounter some obstacles. For instance, my very first presentation slides were
the complete opposite of what my Director expected from me in terms of visuals
(I should have utilized the company’s
presentation template! Yes, I had to go through it again!). Next, in the beginning,
I could hardly understand the tasks my Supervisor would give me since he was
quite fast in his explanations (We’ve
talked about it: Thank you Emeric for bearing me). With time, I got used to
it and today I can proudly say that, not only I understand and complete each
mission but I also meet all the deadlines.
Serving an Internship at Move For Art Ltd has been a priceless
professional experience and has boosted my confidence that this profession well
suits me. This is not the end! I will continue proving my competence, and putting
in constant efforts to learn and achieve more in this field.
I might not be an Events Manager yet, but hey, I structured
and organised two aperitifs from scratch (Aperitifs which have been successes. Full Package: Food, Beverages,
Candles, Sitting area...).
IT COUNTS!
IT COUNTS!
Last blog already! Hoping that everyone is enjoying their
last internship days and takes away inspiring and memorable experiences that
will be helpful in the near future.
I started this PR Blog with “The author of my Blank book... Off for a great journey” and I am closing it with “The beginning of something Amazing”.

Hello Sheevani,
I totally agree with you. What we have learned in PR classes is the premise of our insight, yet the experience that we have gained amid our internship is E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!. Starting from collaboration, meeting new people, being involved in many projects, working on several tasks at once according to due times to work ethic are stuff that can only be cultivated through work experience.
I have enjoyed every minute of my internship to learn from my supervisor, to build a network of people and to gain industry knowledge from professionals.
The internship has upgraded my professional confidence and I can now say that I’ve got the hands-on-experience to be a genuine professional for my future profession – undeniably (fingers crossed) in the PR world.
Our future is in our hands.
It’s nearly the end…but it’s the beginning on a way long journey!
