Already three weeks that I
have been on my internship program and as much as it started in the middle of
the road, I’ve learnt to appreciate hard work and to be rewarded for it. In
fact I’ve noticed a load of new personality traits and skills that I never
thought I had such as being a true perfectionist, having a talent for repartee but
wise, most importantly, I always ask to work on more projects. Anything but
less, I really surprised myself especially when it is comes from both
communication managers who makes those comments.
I had several tasks these
weeks such as to work on the official corporate magazine named “The Source”
which is released every three months but I will keep this subject for my next
blog post. I promise! Another task has been to deal with time management when
it concerns deadlines for the website articles; being ask to write an article
in the next three hours for the 3,000 employees of the corporate on the
previous event of the weekend which was the Overseas Education Centre (OVEC)
student fair to inform the staff about the response of the public or to
communicate the numbers of present local and international universities. It was
really stressing but I think in these situations, you should remain calm and
professional and concentrate on the information’s given to you to write a clear
and concise text to impress your employer. My next big event coming is the
organisation of a press conference on their annual event “Make A Wish 2015”
which I will also elaborate on my future posts.
Towards these tasks, not
complicated but I guess you have to start from there. I had several surprises
from my colleagues who insist to give me free movies tickets for the weekend
and also free calendars and pens. I was really proud and happy to having made
good impression. I am now developing a real teamwork trait which really help me
to gain assurance in my work. One week left and I’m already feeling emotional
about leaving this good and excellent framework of communication.
