Fashion to start and fashion to end

I am writing this having just completed my internship at Magenta. All I can say is that it was most definitely an eye opening experience into the world of Public Relations.

My last task at Magenta was spent helping out at one of Perth's Department Stores Autumn/Winter fashion launch. My task was working backstage and helping prep all of the clothes and models and then once the show was on to help dress the models before they walked the runway.

It was exciting to be able to start my internship with a fashion show and also end it on the same note. Fashion shows are definitely not as glamorous as most people think. They are hectic with everyone doing different things on top of each other and trying to get all the clothes ready in time for the show.

The show was a great success and went off with out any problems which was a relief!

I really enjoyed my time at Magenta and I definitely learnt a lot from the all the girls there. They were all really nice and helpful towards me.

One of the main things that I learnt is that I now know more about what I don't want! Magenta is a consultancy and as such they have multiple clients with each of the PR girls working across multiple clients. Watching this and seeing how they juggle each clients and the different tasks makes me think that I would prefer to work in-house for a company and be able to put all my energy into one client. It shall be interesting if I do end up in-house to see what the differences are between the two mediums of PR.

I am so grateful to everyone at Magenta for everything that did for me and the time they took to teach me different areas of PR.

I am now looking forward to a future career in PR after seeing in a real world environment.

Thanks for reading.
