Final, Everything!

Hello my fellow PR professionals!

Everything is going final today! Final week, Final assignment, Final Semester, Final Blog post, final everything! I guess everyone is now finalising their work and assignment so am I. Tiring and excited at the same time.

It has been a dilemma whether or not should I continue to work for my job placement even though i have completed my 20 days. since my task in the company is incomplete i have decided to stay till my work there in done. hopefully, i could learn more skills and experience more while im there.
until recently then i found out that, working in colosoul is not just about working, it is actually an opportunity for me to explore the industry, it does not only open my eyes but also inspired me to learn from the concept of how Colosoul is operated.

there is actually nothing much to say as I have been busy with uni work and i guess most of you are the same. well there go the last post! Good luck to everyone especially those who has exam coming! And Congratulation to those who are graduating!

The making of a better workplace

On the 2nd of May, there has been a makeover in our Colosoul group's office due to the in-organised setting which it was hard for almost everyone in the office to do their job. Basically, there are no exact seats or position provided to us during our office working hour, facing problems like no seats or table available.

Papers and documents are everywhere in the office and we are always unable to find things we needed, important documents that are suppose to be in our database are nowhere to be found, stationary that are needed to do the job are very limited and most importantly there are not enough computers for us to use. All these issues has been a threat to the company.

Fortunately, our CEO had agreed to commence a makeover for the company, each of us who has more days spend in the office were given a job. Some were here to move tables and partition to create workplace and to separate into different department, which there is now a place for administrative, designers, accountant and etc.

My job that day was to search for materials needed for this makeover, such as computers, stationeries, printers, scanners and etc. basically I have to look for things on the internet by comparing price and search for the most reasonable quality with the lower price.

Due to the fact that we are in the media industry, our boss had suggested that we could also get corporate or business-partners to sponsor us with things we need if they are able to do so. hopefully, there will be good news coming to us. That's all for now, thanks for reading.

Experiencing @ Colosoul

Hi everyone,

Basically, I am working as an event assistant for Colosoul however due to the lack of work for me I am currently working in the Business Hub department for Colosoul. First time working in company which involves PR and Marketing is really not an easy job, my work here includes finding potential clients, and find ways to maintain past clients but that is not the job I do most here, basically my job in Business Hub focusses more on Social Network.

In terms of working on social network basically means that there are clients who hired us to maintain and consult their social network sites, and that is what I do here in Business Hub. This is also my first time dealing with such businesses, it is never easy due to the problems that I have to do massive research on how to enhance social network site and I have to try out everything on my own.

Communication with clients and colleagues or supervisor is the most important factor for me to get my job done, however it is not as easy as it looks, I've faced a lot of issues when I am trying to get my work done when there is a communication breakdown which for a few times clients that wanted me to get their job done as soon as possible always tend to fail in replying my email, and I will always get their reply only when it is near the due date which then I have to rush their work and other's.

Communicating with colleagues and supervisor is also as important as communicating with clients, basically because I am still a newbie in this industry, I do need a lot of advices and guidance from people who are able to teach me and guide me, fortunately my colleagues are able to do so, however there are sometimes new things that maybe my colleague and I are not aware of how to deal with it, and unable to find the right person to guide us we have to think out ways to do it ourselves which is very time consuming.

Hopefully, I am able to gain more experience and learn how to solve these problems for my future benefits, that is it for now, I will be sharing more of my thoughts in my future post.

Thanks for reading.

The business world

Hi all,

Coming to the end of my internship now and I have learnt a lot about not only public relations but also communicating with people in the business world- very different to communicating with people in my day to day retail job.
Having completed tasks such as a 3 year internal operations plan, helping compile a database for the organisation, media kits etc I have learnt that having a well established structure and leadership roles is paramount for getting things done as soon and as well as possible.
My internship took place at a volunteer organisation called Colosoul Magazine which has no paid staff although it is something they are working towards. The CEO is very passionate about her organisation and has a great vision but there needs to be more structure and leadership roles established to ensure that the organisation meets its full potential and is able to grow and develop in the future into a stable and thriving not for profit organisation
