If you read my previous blog, I mentioned that I will go to a museum and meet with a monk. Now let me share with you the interesting experiences with meeting the monk on Saturday last week.
Last week on Saturday morning, my boss and me, plus another colleague. We went to meet the monk who in charge of the museum. Now let me give you a brief of this museum I went. This museum stores some famous monks’ drawing and famous artists drawing as well. And this museum is the only one which stores the most famous drawing in the world. And it was build by a famous monk. My job is to give a brief to the monk who in charge of this museum right now. My boss cannot speak Chinese. So I also do the translation to my boss. And ask the monk some questions about the history of the museum and something related to the museum and the trial. The monk is a very nice person. And I find that talk to a monk, makes you feel very peaceful. I don’t know the reason, maybe he give you another view of the living. Hehehe….
Because I am still a novice, my boss teaches me how to ask questions which the media may interest. Although the trial is on July, we need to prepare everything just incase something happen. We need to make sure the monk is getting ready for the trial, which will welcome the visitors and introduce the museum’s drawing to the visitors.
After meeting, my boss asked my colleague and me to write a introduction of this museum, and list at least 20 news angle of this museum, so that we can attract the media to report this trial before or after the trial. On the other hand, the person who will make a brief to the visitors before they come down to the museum will also use this introduction.

Hi Karen,
Looks like you had gained some great experience from interviewing a monk. I did chat with some of the monks before, during conversation with them I felt really relax and clam too. One of the benefits of being a Public Relations is that we can meet a variety of people from different backgrounds. And we often get to learn new things from them. As I am doing my internship in an organisation helping individuals with dementia, I did meet and talked to some of the people who diagnosed with the illness. From them I get a better understanding of people living with dementia and these helps me a lot in my work too. Karen, I am interested with the museum you wrote in this blog and hope that you can write more about it :)
