First Day Of Internship

Hello all, i know it looks like im too late, however, i actually have started my internship in a government establishment in Miri around 25th August. What i can tell you all about the hard part during my internship is having to look for a placement. This is due to the fact that Miri City still don't kow very much about what PR is and did'nt put any thought of having to form one department to handle their company's PR activities.

MCC or Miri City Council is where i am doing my internship and so far i find it very interesting. The first day i went feels like im going to face a trial by the head of the department/ However as time passes by i noticed that the working environment is actually warmer than the rest of the other department which fits the description of PR. Fits the description here means that they did everything almost perfectly while handling problem rises by the customer or the publics.

At that moment i also found out that the PRS (Public Relations Section) have three tasks, where firstly is to receive and compile complaints, requests and suggestions from the publics, secondly, To organise meetings which include the compilation of minutes, the agenda of the meetings and so on, third task is to act as information centre in Miri City where publics can obtain information about Miri in which PRS already provided by making and handling out information material to the general publics. My first day ends with learning the ropes about working in PRS through reading working manual and asking the staff for assistance on how they handling their everyday works.

Hi Jay!!
I agree with you. Working with MCC is definately the best experience. The people in PRS department are wonderful and they make me feel very much at home.

During my time there, there wasn't much of work to be done but I guess during your time the activities just started. :)

I hope you gained some insight exprience while working there.
