Media Kit.

My public relations placement journey at Colosoul Magazine is getting more exciting, I was told to prepare a media kit for its upcoming event, which a collaboration with the Perth Fashion Festival. I had prepared the media release and now gathering more information for the backgrounder.

Writing my Media Release

Draft out my sub-heading:
• The main paragraph – where, who, why, when, how (the latest event happening in Colosoul)
• Quotes – from the founder , Tricia Ray
• Simple, informative - About Colosoul Magazine.

I also prepared a Question & Answer sheet about Colosoul and interviewed my boss. My boss has been very helpful along the interview. Some of the words she said, I quoted it in my second and third paragraph in the media release. It is very interesting to realise that preparing Q&A paper is useful, and I did not see the important of this when I was still in university. I thought like I have everything in my head and why would I need a paper sheet. In real life, we have to prepare everything in advance so that we will not get stuck half way and get confused. Moreover, your Q&A section can finish as soon as possible with a paper in front of you rather than you have to think of the questions when you sitting in front of your interviewer, which it is time consuming.

Writing my backgrounder

In my backgrounder, I will have to provide information about Colosoul Magazine as well as Perth Fashion Festival. I have to communicate with the Perth Fashion Festival workers, in order to gain more information about Perth Fashion Festival and their goals for this year.
I browse the Perth Fashion Festival website and search for the contact details, once I got it, I took my note book and started to write down what I have to say when I call the place, as English is my second language, I believes that to write down and make the sentences first will help me a lot. My conversation went well and I talk smoothly on the phone with the person in charge of giving me the information about Perth Fashion Festival. But I do face some small issue, whereby delays of information about Perth Fashion Festival from the person I communicate with. So, for now, I browse the website and search as much information I could get about Perth Fashion Festival and draft it down. Once I get my info kit from the Perth Fashion Festival, I will be able to finish up my backgrounder. 
