A step closer from "The Real World"

Hi everyone!


This is my very first post! How is everyone doing in their intern so far?

I’m Indery and currently undertaking my placement at Colosoul Magazine. Colosoul Magazine is an independent youth magazine which covers topics such as local musicians, fashion designers and artists. This place appeals to me because it is different from the other youth magazine out there, what differentiates this magazine from the rest is that it focuses on "Real" (Social) issues.

So this is how my journey began...

I had the opportunity to be interviewed by my mentor and the editor of the magazine herself, Trish. There I was debriefed and given a fair bit of documents to familiarised myself with the magazines and its concept. Luckily enough I joined the team at the right time, and is very fortunate to be given the opportunity to be working on the event department. Although this is the main reason as to why I have chosen Public Relations as my field of study (what I have always dreamed of doing really), It is somehow very frightening to have my dream becoming a reality this soon. However I’m certain that although this will be challenging, the experience and skills I will learn here will be a very rewarding and useful for years to come.

I’m just a step away from “The Real World”.
