Hi all!
Hopefully everyone's placements are going as well as mine. If you caught a glimpse of my last post, I mentioned that I helped out at the Garden City Fashion Catwalk Runway Show (and if you managed to look close enough, on my previous blog I wrote Decemeber instead of September - sorry if I confused anyone which I'm sure I did!) It was a huge success, and enabled me to get an understanding of what events management entails – a lot of a hard work!
Back onto my work at Rockend. Recently, the organisation celebrated their 30 year birthday nationwide. The Rockend team travelled to Sydney for two nights (Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September) and Isla, the WA State Manager who is my boss, put me in charge of the office while they were away. My duties were to answer the phones and log any support calls that came through. This gave me a great opportunity to catch up on some of my PR placement work, such as updating the media contacts list we currently have, entering any potential media prospects, and getting started on a wiki that Cameron Crain (the Marketing Manager) has asked me to do.
If anyone has any great tips for writing a wiki, I’d love to hear them. Maybe bounce a few ideas around? What I know about wikis at the moment is that they are used for project communication and documentation, and that anybody can write a wiki, so if anyone else has any other information for me, it will be greatly welcomed and much appreciated!
Thanks for listening – Emma.
