I have just finished my placement and am quite happy in doing so. Towards the end of my placement when I was only working one to two days a week due to other commitments. In contrast to when I started and was working on a full time basis it is not as satisfying, nor did I feel like I was doing complex PR work, more so a Personal Assistant. I highly encourage those who are reading this and they haven't started there placement but are planning the administration of it to organise at least a couple of weeks full time. PR work involves networking and developing relationships and it is difficult to effectively do this when you are being placed once a week and have a network that needs to be contacted more often. I found there was a breakdown in communication due to this, as when I was absent other volunteers would then approach the network or 'pick up' from where I left. All of which would confuse the network as initiation would have to be established again. Consequently, at times this had a negative impact on our goal.
All in all, an excellent learning experience and opening into the Perth industry.

Hi
I have noticed this issue too. I started my placement and only work two days during the week at the moment. Like you, I've noticed that I probably don't tend to do much complex work. However I am still learning from the experience and am really happy with the organisation I'm with.
Hi there,
I agree with your post too, as I am working as a part time basis in the organization and only work for one day per week. Nonetheless, I agree with you that internship is part of the learning experience, so I have to put extra efforts and being able to manage the time effectively and efficiently.
