Hi guys!!!Its me, Vincent again. Thanks for writing in but sad to say, thats the nature of the construction industry. There are some things in life that we can't change and its the way to survive in the cruel and realistic nature of this industry. I know that one of these days, I would have to do the same but in the meantime, I will try my best to change my boss's perspective and see how it goes...
Anyway, its been the 2nd week of my internship and it has been nothing short of being busy. To give them a clearer picture of what PR is all about, I showed them my works that I have done in school and explained to them what things like newsletters, feature stories, websites and others can do to help the company. My boss was very supportive and he told me to come up with all the documents and also, come up with a draft of the website so that if it was feasible, he could engage someone to set up the website for us according to the format which I proposed. I also suggested setting up a facebook account but it was rejected by my boss. This is because that my operations manager had previously done research on facebook and found that not many of our clients are using it as a communications channel.
I will be attending a function soon. Its a charity show called the Renci Show, might sound familiar to those in Singapore right? My company got the tickets because we donated a significant amount fo money..haha...will keep you guys updated with pictures!!! cya!
