Eminence of Pr

Good day fellow practitioners and compliments of the new season to you all.

This being my first post, please allow me to let you in a little on my internship. I am based at Media Prima Berhad under Group Corporate Communications I started work about a month back and every day till now has been an unmatched experience. My department deals with the corporate and public affairs of the organization which deals with all bared in the name, large scale media owning tv stations, radio stations, a newspaper and into advertising as well.

My 1st day was not so nerve racking as I had anticipated because my team turned out to be more than warm and welcoming. My worry about the “language barrier” was quickly scratched of as everyone was quite fluent in English. A few hours later I was taken around so as to have a feel of my new working environment with more introductions along the way. Since it was a Monday, the rest of the week was spent working closely with different individuals as they performed their tasks in order for me to grasp quickly what was expected of me with time. News monitoring as we all know is an obvious case, updating our intra- net, doing station visits, were the first I was to handle. Soon coming in our calendar was the Extraordinary General Meeting (E.G.M) with our Board of Directions and Shareholders gathered at the One World Hotel. More on this and others will be in my next post.

Best Regards

Working in a foreign environment is a great opportunity to learn aspect of habituating. Which I believe is a plus point for any field of work not just PR. Foreign Media industry sounds like a challenge but a fun one. I worked for a Media organization as well it can be hard at time the schedule, but its all fun and games at the end. Best of luck and do your best.

That is all true Ehsan, but i loved the enviroment as it was an experience that gave me a feel of the greater platform of the corporate world. I am sure you know what i mean. It is always great to be challenged as it bring the best out of you. I believe that one needs to end up contributing and adding creative ideas to their organizations and this can mostly be achieved if working in the environments that we ended up interning with.

Further more being in a foreign media organizations allowed me to be exposed to situations i see lacking back home, so when i get there am sure i could table one or two ideas with them to improve their stand.

Good luck and all the best to you to sir
