the Placement at Samanea PR, was quite an experience yet challenging. but i was able to put myself in a position to acquire and learn as much as i can.
i didn't do much of events or meeting with clients but the much that i received was good enough for me to be able to exercise what i had learnt during my Public Relations classes.
Besides the daily media monitoring which included issues identification and making a score card. i had the opportunity to do the media lists which at one point was nerve wrecking but work has to be done,and of course feature articles and backgrounders.
the most important thing that i learnt during this period, about being able to do your work while working in public relations. is the note worthiness on RESEARCH
-You cannot service your client without proper and full research, because most of the time one has to think of behalf of their client, in order to give them the service they need.
-Being able to source out information from everywhere,the internet alone is not enough for information.
i enjoyed more of the writing.. and hopefully i will do more of it in future.
it was an awesome experience being an intern, though sometimes overwhelming but it was worth it.

One of the most important things is to enjoy the job as u get motivated and enlightened to learn more. As Part of what i experienced, you are very much right about research, as long as that is not done, one is as good as dead.
I am glad you recall your experience as a great one Crystal, now you are equipped with the knowledge to face the working class world.

Good that you have learnt a lot during the period of your internship, hope you are ready to share the knowledge you have with the working world.
Research is very important as you have mentioned and i think its one the good tools you need to do on daily basis in order to be a good public relation worker.
