Hi everyone.
Well I am well and truly into my internship at Leeuwin now and am having a great time!
I have been doing a lot of work for the corporate guests who will be attending the concerts.
On Saturday night, in addition to the general public attending there is a 1500 person marquee with corporate guests and Leeuwin invited guests that come along. I have been assembling and preparing their lanyards, programmes and information sheets. The guests that Leeuwin invites really are based on relationship building and maintenance, the guests include our biggest clients (based on purchase orders) media personall, government representatives and suppliers for the event. Also I see the purpose of the corporate guests. Companies attending are large companies in Western Australia and Australia. The guests coming are definitely the target audience for our wine. These people are mature and potentially financially able to purchase the wine.
The preparations are making it obvious that the idea is help out where ever we can with the guests and ensure they have a positive and enjoyable experience. Obviously by doing so these people will think of the positives they have experienced at the concert and associate it with both the winery and the wine itself.
One error thats happened in the preperations was the programmes we send to our corporate guests. The art work had been signed off and sent to the printers with the incorrect date on the front of the programmes. It was only discovered after 1300 were delivered to our office. The error cost us about a week in sending out to the our guests. Luckily a reprint was able to the organised!
I've also learnt in the last couple of weeks, even if you are working to certain deadlines, other people don't necessarily work to the same dates! The RSVP for the corporate guests was set for monday the 25th and they are still trickling in now. So I've learnt patience and persistance is required in the events world!
I have by no means been bored and had no work to do. As soon as I've finished one task, there's another waiting to be completed! With one week till the concerts I'm sure we're going to be busy busy. I can't wait to get down to the winery next weekend and see how it all turned out.
