This is basically what I have been looking forward to do. Limkokwing University Botswana’s Corporate Social Investment is concerned with community upliftment and contributing to bringing change for the betterment of the nation. The main purpose of this charitable act is to maintain long lasting partnerships and carry on the legacy that Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Limkokwing has created for the youth of Botswana.
Charitable foundations we have assisted just in the year 2009 involves Botswana Red Cross, childline Botswana, disabled Kids in Moshupa and Masiela Trust Fund. It is always a pleasure to be successful into sharing the little that we have with those that are in need.
For the past two weeks we have been working on a voluntary project of a musical album produced by students with guidance from the staff. I wrote a press release for the album launch which was especially to attract the public, media and students in order to have a major contribution for Lady Khama Charity Fund. The album has already sold up to P15000 and it is anticipated to do even better.
The whole project involved so much work, writing notices for students and staff, calling a meeting to persuade and teach them the purpose of giving and appreciating the disadvantaged, since then the response has been massive. We also placed boxes around school where people could just drop any amount they have if the album happen to be expensive for them.
