They say God's delay's are not God's denial's, with that in mind i finally managed to clinch my internship with the prestigious Limkokwing university in Malaysia.The first week at work was a bit awkward for me as i had to adjust accordingly to my first office experience . Fortunately my supervisor was very understanding and assured me that this are just office shock moments that first timers experience. For a bit i felt like i had a new family. The lively positive office environment inspired me. I could swear the reality bug bit me right there as i realized i was about to make a transition into the corporate world and this internship was a mid wife that delivers me into the hands of it.
In a blink of an eye, the ecstatic reality changed, it was back to business. I was delegated to send e-mails and make phone calls to various media outlets and confirm with them if they would be able to cover the upcoming Graduation ceremony. I guess experience is the best teacher there is, i did stumble a bit at first but as time progressed my flawless eloquence on the phone when making calls even amazed me.
Because Limkokwing University is a global college, working with different nationalities was a bit of a challenge for me at first as i was never accustomed to working in a multi racial environment before but i gained an insight that we are no different from each other. The way my bosses worked like threads of the same fabric/tapestry was magical and taught me to look beyond stereotypes when working with people.Under this point of view, working in a multi racial environment really opened my eyes to various school of thought and duly inspired me to act locally and think globally in any task i execute.
From the first week i had gained invaluable experience and knowledge on how to do basic administrative duties as well as how to communicate to the key public's and make media clippings.
With that, welcome to my first introductory post.

I know exactly what you mean, talking about your first experience. Its kind of amazing to learn that almost all the things I experienced on my first days its actually the same as yours. Having to call my clients was a bit of a hell to me too but when i did it for the second time it was like it was like having about 10 years experience in the work industry.
I also had a chance of working with people from different races as i was attached in a hotel, and i believe you, its not that easy.
I would say that's exactly the way forward, adapting is the solution my dear.

we experienced the same thing because I was also attached at Limkokwing University's International Student Activity Centre. I was working in a mlti racial and multinational environment and it really opened doors for me because I was able to learn more about different cultures and people.
Sometimes we would go outside the campus and that is when I met people who had different views to mine and it was interesting. I believe that if communication specialists can endorse that spirit of working together as one then job will be easier.
