Annual dinner for the employees is a common act which is carried out by most of the organization I know. In my forth week I was assigned to carry out to organize the annual dinner of NTV with the Human resource department. This dinner takes place every year right before the end of the year and every single employee is invited to join including few VIPS. The whole process was a lot of fun, at first we had to go to four venues which were selected by Asst Marketing Director. We had to find out every price details about food and service of each place. I had to write down the details and submit to the Asst Marketing Director so he can make his final decision about the venue. He selected the restaurant “Baton Rogue”, main reason for the selection of this venue was because it offered buffet service of 101 dishes and it was economically more flexible than the rest. The next step was distributing the invitation cards to all the employees. I was also assigned to invite three VIPS by going to their house and dropping their invitation card. What I learnt about VIPS is that you don’t get to meet them because they are never home especially during day time so I couldn’t invite them personally. In total we invited over 100 employees and 10 VIPS. This whole process took a week, then on the dinner night I was assigned to usher the VIP guests to their respected table. The dinner consisted of small speeches from the CEO of NTV and Human Resource Manager. The dinner was very formal but however the food was delicious. It was great to see all the employees laughing, having fun, chatting on a special night apart from the normal stress full work environment that they are used to dealing with everyday. Sitting down with the employees for an annual dinner is always a good experience. Not only you get to know them more personally but actually make great bond which definitely helps in working situation. I think annual dinner is an amazing idea; however organizations such as NTV should not only have annual dinner but more regular dinner probably every few months. Making the dinner grand and expensive shouldn’t be the first priority, but getting everyone together to make great bonds among one another should be the aspect organization should focus on. What do you guys think?
That's all folks
Peace out
