There has been so many things that I have learnt from my experiences at Pigeonhole.
The very first day at the organisation I had no idea what to expect. I was seated at a desk in a corner, and given a great big pile of magazines and newspapers.
I was told to flick through each one and find anything to do with Pigeonhole, write it down on a post -it ,label the page, and create a microsoft word document with each item, magazine and date entered. This was a lengthy and boring process. It took three days of the internship to complete. The following three days involved me scanning these labelled pages, cropping, and creating a microsoft word document with these pictures and articles in chronological order.
My work was left there at the end of each day until I finished the media clippings book which overall took five to six days. (three weeks)
After this task was completed, I had realised what skills I had picked up just from such a simple task. I had learnt how different writing styles are used for different magazines and target audiences, what type of products and which sections of the paper or magazines they were placed.
I hadn't realised how much I had learnt about the founder, the organisation's culture and general information about the stores and products until later on when I began to type up the background information in the report.
Although this knowledge was not helpful to my next task , it did become handy a few weeks later.
So if you're finding the internship boring, maybe the tasks set out to you will contribute to work they have in mind for you later.
Keep it up!
On the side note:
As my experiences and knowledge about the industry continue to grow, my personal skills are also being explored. This Friday is Pigeonhole's vintage fashion show in Bon Marche Arcade. I can finally use my make-up artistry skills in an area I never thought I would experience. I get to explore my skills through applying the make-up for the 6 models parading that evening. This is exciting for me, as personally I have only had the opportunity to do bridal, school formals and evening make-up for my clients.

Completely agree! I've had to do a few tasks that I aren't very exciting but necessary. The other day I created a working copy for grant booklets but doing that taught me abit about Adobe InDesign and the programs the DCA runs (great report info). I also edited a speech and after I realised I had just learnt general structures and tones of government presentations.
Goodluck with the fashion show, sounds like a great opportunity to do makeup!
