Hello and Happy New Year to you all..

Immediately after the price giving ceremony i had to read a business magazine called Malaysia `s premier magazine. The magazine saw its image back in 1972.The magazine gives details on Malaysian largest listed companies. Within this magazine companies are listed based on , change in profit, return of revenue ,return of assets and return on equity.

Upon grasping the general knowledge about the magazine i had to go to the company`s website get their contact details to later request for the managing director of the company , chief financial officer, secretary and the head of investor relations. Having done with their names i had to send them invitation latter for an appointment with my managing director for the up coming conference on reputation and reputation management. I started calling companies to make appointment for my managing director , this was on December 21st onwards till 26th.
I just managed to cover about ten companies and the work was halted as i was assigned yet another load to be finished within three days.

On the December 27 the first thing to capture my eyes while entering the office was load of five books on my table which i had to read. This were annual report for companies. The companies where IOI group,TM,British American Tobacco and Tenaga Nasional. I had to evaluate all the books under a given topic followed by subheadings. All the sub headings carried marks different from each. For example one topic evaluated on was environment followed by the following sub headings :
-international recognized standards (ISO14001,Green Globe, etc.) 4 marks
-Company`s own initiatives (Appropriate consideration should be made for the company`s impact on biodiversity, environment impact assessments,if any) 2 Marks

This training was not only about testing my patience rather an expansion of knowledge on how public relations is applied and excised by companies, for pretty example one thing i have recognized during the evaluation is that when it comes to companies to show their corporate social responsibility almost most of them covered it well. This is good public relations helping companies to survive. It shows that companies are not focused on their interest rather they do take the needs of the people into consideration.

Evaluation of this annual reports has again opened my eyes on how exactly public relations firms indulged in reputation management in the area of corporate governance is achieved out.
I managed to cover up the work till the 30th of December, and submitted to my managing director who had to further check out.

This portion sealed it for the year 2010.It has been an exhilarating experience and a lot of composure has been attained.,,looking forward to 2011 posts? follow my updates...
