HERE WE GO AGAIN..(SUGAR LUCT)

The next week I was doing some ratings for the award programs that we were preparing for companies as our managing director is the judge in the Annual Sustainability and CSR report.  I was helping her by reading through the companies to see which one deserves the title looking at some of the places like market place, work place, social and environment looking at how they do on issues like bribery, corruption, human rights, health safety and many more others, their product responsibilities and even the employer relations.

This was basically done looking at the market place stand of the company that is looking at the corporate governance, looking for a clear statement about it, board top management’s remuneration, how they describe their risk management frameworks, policies and procedures and whether they have the CSR board committee. When assessing the corporate risk the factors that we were putting into consideration when doing this evaluation are environmental issues, bribery, corruption, human rights, employee relations, health safety and supply chain issues. We were also taking into consideration the disclosure of any reprimand/fine/penalty for non compliance to things like environment legislation, labour law or code, listing requirements, healthy and safety issues and their issues on corporate governance and their initiatives on corporate issues and integrity.

Most importantly we were looking at CSR reporting as we needed a clear statement of CSR or stated commitments and the availability of CSR report and to see whether they adopt a specific reporting guideline like GRI, or whether it includes objectives/ targets performance data on CSR issues and whether they have been audited or reviewed by a third party. We were also looking at stakeholder engagement, procurement policies, product responsibility and in the workplace we were taking a closer look at health and safety, human capital development, quality of life / work life  balance , work place diversity and on the environment we were looking  at the environmental management system in place by looking at a clear statement on environment policy and also evidence of aligning business services to achieving better environmental services to achieving better environmental outcomes.  Lastly we were looking at the community on how the companies align their community investment to UN millennium development goals or national development goals or national development goals.
If you are interested in learning more about this just let me know I will appreciate and answer you because this is really one of the important things to know in the PR FIELD.

Wow really sounds interesting.Thats what we call pr at its peak, seriously, speaking some companies just focus on what they have to gain from their employees n they end up forgetting about who has taken them to where they are(employees and key public),well covered!!.
