My work environment(Onkabetse Luct)

hello good people. After days of trying to figure out this blog thing under the snail crawling like internet of my beloved country Botswana i finally got a breakthrough.I am doing my internship in an uncommon place which is the Botswana Police Service(BPS) under their Public Relations Unit. This is the one and only Public Relations unit for the entire BPS across the whole country.

It is this place that the BPS  gets in touch with the public to confront and address many social ills. It is were the public is educated on the country's laws and criminal intents and statistics. We handle the building of the organizations image.PRU as we call it covers television,Radio and Publications ie BPS magazines and internal newspapers. Its really hard to speak of what i do as most of the information is of national matters and i have to keep the confidence of the organization. The office environment is like none other as there is a level of discipline amongst the police officers for example they have to salute those who are of a higher rank than them and when the high ranking officer walks in we all have to stand until he/she says we can "be as we were".

i have grown to love my workplace as i am getting educated not only in Public Relations but in all matters of life as we handle all sorts of people and issues. The workload is massive as we have to cover Public Relations matters of over 30 Police stations in the country and also handle the media. Besides the fact that my work mates are police officers on the line of duty our office is no different from any other consultancy.
