The Football Season finally wraps up!
Hi all,its been a short while, but now im back with more of my internship experience!
The National teams AFCON games went well, everybody was happy that the boys qualifies, but sadly did not win or qualify to the next stage of the competitions. The boys had to come back, after facing consecutive losses at the tournament,..
The responsibility was now all in our hands to make sure that despite the loss, let the victory be in the fact that the country qualified, because it never has before. The MYSC felt the boys still needed to be welcomed majestically, and with love and support despite the outcomes at the tournament.
So this is the part that i was really active,i organised a venue where the players and sponsors, could have lunch after their arrival,i had to book the exact number of seats and a desired seating place at the selected venue.
I chose a very appealing hotel/casino called Gaborone Sun to welcome the players and their sponsors for a short lunch. We also had to look into the welcoming ceremony where all the national football fans will go and welcome the team.It was agreed that the national stadium was the best place, and the fans came in large numbers, cheering and still supporting the team. That's loyalty right there!
We were responsible for tabulating a program which will outline the flow of the procedures to the dot.We were also responsible for arranging a sitting arrangement for both fans and delegates such a sponsors the minster his secretary, and the players with their coach.
But before that i and the Pr team organised an entourage of fans who would welcome them at the national airport as they arrive.I shook each and every players hand welcoming them home and just congratulating them for representing the country to the best of their ability. The minister was present, his permanent secretary, and the PR team.
by parading and waving at fans,at the National stadium
So finally the hectic football season was over, and we could now calm down a bit,and get back to other matters of our jobs.I shall discuss that during my new post!
Till then Cherio!

Hi Nana, It must be great experience you have there, especially when you handle the event like that. Organised fans who would welcome the national team at the national airport was not easy back in my country. There always a bit of commotion among them. But, you and your team succeed to organize them. :) Well, i hope you enjoy your internship. Good luck :)
Wow, what a great opportunity for you to organize such wonderful events. I hope that you are now good at organizing events and doing other PR practices.
