Since my placement and while engaged in the company, i had an opportunity to take visitors around within the company mostly children. Arranging for press conferences and inviting media houses for the local show (SHOWDOWN), arrange refreshments, prepares goodies for VIPs, prepare for events like the anniversary for the station and press conference for example, mounting the bunting and preparing speech .
Finally got exposure of knowing how different international organizations and Botswana organization of which is a good experience to me as Intern. As a future Public Relations Practitioner, the task groomed me for good planning skills, communication skills , meeting deadlines, how to treat and approach people of different status.Further more, working in international company as a foreigner taught me a lot of things, how to mingle, treat, deal with people of different culture, see how they do things and how they behave. I think i am ready to take my experience back home for people to learn what i have learnt in Malaysia and i have realized most of companies back home do not know much about PR, i guess they have not realized the difference between marketing, advertising and pr.

Did you have a problem meeting deadlines? You were working in a big company, there must have been a lot of work to do in a short period of time.
From your post i can tell you have gained a lot of experience from your placement.I would say you were in the real PR world.Communications, planning, writing and public speaking skills are the most important skills in PR more especially if you were to deal with the task you were assigned with, taking visitors around, and writing speeches, and so on.This is so interesting.
thanks for this interesting experience, i can say with no doubt that your internship was a double-edged sword because you were both in media and PR so you know how to handle them both.
