Hi, everyone!
This is my first blog about my placement. I am so exciting to share my experience with you. This time, I feel different from before when I did volunteers in some PR events. Before I did event assistant in Lifeline WA and McComb Foundation. We worked in a team of 20 assistance with with the event setup. I only knew the process from the event set up to the end. But since I did my placement, I know the preparation of a event is much more than I knew.
I am doing my placement in Chinese Cabbage Marketing company (CCM). CCM is a new chinese company which was established in last year based in Perth. Primaryly , CCM provides marketing and PR services for chinese retail businesses in Perth. They have bilingual and multi-culture advantage that attracts Chinese business investors to start thir new carrer with CCM. Hence, I need to know our cliets well before I take part in my working. When I started to do this, I realised if you want to know your cliets well, you need to find more information as you can. And in the real world, you can not have so much time as you prepared for your assignment in university. Sometimes, you have to hand in your work in two days. I did some Information collection work in the beginning.
To help future business owners to set up their businesses, mostly retails, we work on saving clients' time and money. We connect differnet business across industries to help B2B corporations as well.
Most stuff in CCM are in Chniese backgroud, speak Chniese languages and dialects, understand Chinese culture and Chinese investors needs. And I believe that working for Chinese business makes my work becoming easier. Just like your tutor and lecturers said, the lauguage for PR person is really very important.
The team I work in is consisted of 7 young people, we are full of passion and believe in what we do. I do love the interesting job. Hope you guys hope find a placement you interested in.

i have also come to realize the importance of event management in Public Relation, it is crucial but some Pr practitioners tend to take it lightly which usually leads to disasters.
