Almost coming to an end!

It is almost coming to an end for my 20 days placement. I am starting to wonder and collect every material that I have did in the office for the placement report. Most of the time, I am just speaking to clients and colleagues in the office through emails and phone calls. I have only did a few materials so far, which is contract agreements, media kit and writing letter for corporate sponsors. Hope that I get can get to write more paper materials in future. Also I am getting along very well in the office with all other volunteers in each department and only now I am getting use to the working environment where I feel less pressure when It is ALREADY my 14th day at work. My supervisor offers me to work there for a longer time as I am being quite handy for now. Managing as one of the admins and doing along other work as well is one useful experience for me. However I will have to leave Australia for good very soon and I do not know how to reject her offer as I feel bad doing so. Any thoughts? Probably it is just me being unprofessional xD

Also recently, the job that I am undertaking is to discuss with one of the clients about the services we offer. As we are a media and design agency, I am asked to give recommendations and It was really tough of that as I may say wrong things. However, the coming week I will be further discussing with the client and coming to a conclusion of ideas and plans to meet his needs so that we can start working on his things. Hopefully, I will not have a havoc dealing with the client and also it is one good experience for me to deal with him and his business. That is all for now, thank you for reading!

Hi Tony,

What agency is your placement with? I think it is always best to be honest with people especially if y6ou intend on leaving Australia.

Good luck with your conversation.

Dear Tony,
I see you are in a dilemma. How nice for you to be given such an opportunity to work there longer. If you are still not sure about it and you have the feeling of scared of losing the chance, why not go for it? Chances like this does not come everyday. You can leave anytime you want when you realize if things does not go quite well. 20 days is just a short period for you to really get to know the organisation as a whole and the environment have not yet seep into you just yet. Give it a try for at least 3 months and see how it goes..keep up the good work and good luck!!

Cheers,
Sophie.

Hi Tony,

What are the odds of being offered a job after your placement especially when they are plenty of other volunteers around that they could have utilize instead.

Its definitely a piece of news worth celebrating for being offered a job. This just proves that your efforts were being appreciated and needed.

Perhaps you might express to your manager your gratitude for the offer first and then bring up the topic about your situation on having to leaving the country and see how it goes? Maybe you both might be able to work out some other alternatives? If all else fails, at least reserve a good contact for future reference?

All the best for your future endeavors.
Grace
