The Final Hurrah!

Greetings Fellows Internees,

This week has been the conclusion of my internship and I am actually very sad to be leaving. I have had such a wonderful time over the past 10 weeks, gaining hands on experience in the world of pr that hopefully it is only goodbye for a short while.

In my final two weeks my tasks have been focused towards social media. For the entire month of May, the organisation runs an annual campaign with the objective of gaining awareness of fashion items by posting an image to the blog as well as on Facebook of a new person dressed in a new outfit each day. This task has required specific timing in relation to posting times with the blog post being posted at 6am and the Facebook post at 6pm, as it is among the most utilised time of the social networking site gaining maximum interaction. By using such social mediums the organisation is able to encourage two-way symmetrical communication between itself and vital stakeholders, ultimately increasing their credibility and trust.

Another task for the week has been to develop continual blog posts regarding weekly photography workshops. It is vital that the blog posts are all linked to the organisations web store so that readers are able to easily access the pre - payment option for tickets, as well as linking the blog post to the Facebook page to ensure maximum awareness is being achieved. The organisation also distributed an announcement to the customer database to gain further awareness. By utilising a range of different mediums to distribute the message of the workshops, the organisation is applying integrated marketing communications (IMC), meaning the process of developing and implementing various forms of persuasive communications programs with customers and prospects.

Well that’s all for now! I have my final feedback meeting with the fellow in charge on Tuesday. Wish me luck!

Helen xx
