First Day Of Internship

Greetings to everyone

I did my internship at The Ministry of Local Government in Botswana. The attachment was basically under the Public Relations sector.

My first day at work was not very eventful, i started my internship at a point whereby my supervisor was a bit held up with conferences, so he had little time to take me around and introduce me to other colleagues.

But during his spare time, we had a bit of time to discuss about what is expected of me in a Public Relations work field. He shared with me a bit of his experience on the field and wanted me to share with him what i thought of his perception about Public Relations, he also challenged me to explain how what i learnt at school  can be applied to the work field. His reasoning was based on the fact that, what we do in the work field is actually only thirty percent of what we learnt from school. He believed that all the other seventy percent is actually what you learn in the work field, how one abducts will determine the outcome of his/her evaluation as a civil servant.

With what we had shared on the first day, i was actually looking forward to working under the monitoring of my supervisor, he seemed a wise men and all his interpretations of school work to work field made a lot of sense.
