During my internship at The Ministry of Local Governments, i managed to get involved with other departments and got to help them out with some of their duties. We all know that when you apply for a job, whether it is an internship or not, the terms of the agreement always have the "and other related duties" clause.
Because of my experience in Film & Television, i got the opportunity to help the television department in doing a whole lot of duties including:
- Shooting a documentary for "Batho-Pele' which translates to 'People first' program.
- I helped in video editing of the documentary.
- Providing assistance in lighting while shooting the documentary.
- I also prepared a press release to inform interested people to come audition in order to be part of the acting cast.
This to a certain extent was in a way linked to Public Relations because i dealt with people who came to inquire about our documentary and what it was all about. As mentioned before, every information that had to be shared with the public had to go through the Public Relations department first.
