2nd week in Kingsmen went by in a jiffy. I
don’t know if that was because there were so much to do, or time
just generally passes faster when you are not studying.
For
a start, for those who attempted to guess why the humpty dumpty is the mascot
of the company I am interning at I guess you should have figured out the
answer? If not, it is because like the nursery rhyme goes “Humpty dumpty sat on
the wall, humpty dumpty had a great fall. All the king horses, and all the KINGSMEN...” There, answer revealed.
So
anyway, this post will sum up and give you readers an overview of my 2nd
week here in Kingsmen Creative.
I
would start from where I left off the last time – the annual Design and
Builders Award contest. As mentioned in the first post, 1 of the first task
assigned to me when I first came into the company was to facilitate and support
the corporate communication department in the annual contest. The week started
off with the preliminary judging where half the entries were slashed off. Among
the ones that were not eliminated, there were little notes scribbled on by the
judges where I had to relay and follow-up on with the designers of the
projects.
Kingsmen
had a known history to be actively involved in giving back to the society. In
2011, the company donated $200, 000 to the Singapore Association of the
Visually Handicapped as part of its CSR program. This year guess who is tasked
to source for the potential beneficiaries? Me. Yes, I have been tasked to research
and draft out the list of not-for-profit organisations the company can consider
to channel its CSR efforts towards. Also, I have been involving myself in the
production of the company’s annual newsletter this year, more of that in the
next post!
Till
then, so long people!
