Christmas madness!

So, it has been a long time since I wrote here and it is long overdue! Apologies for that!

Today I want to write about my experience of Christmas where I interned. I have never really celebrated Christmas before, so this was my very first and exciting experience. I was introduced to the concept of secret Santa and was part of the team which  decorated the Christmas tree. We were given a few hours on a Friday to decorate the office with the ornaments given, and here is the end result.

The excitement of secret Santa and the Christmas lunch created a beautiful atmosphere in the office. We took some time off during the day to write down our wishes for the present our secret Santa was to get for us, all with in a budget of course! Finally the day came to pick the name of the person who I would be the secret Santa for; I picked the name of one of the administrative ladies. Getting a present, wrapping it and putting it under the tree was exciting! And as the day to the Christmas lunch got closer, the presents pilled up and our curiosity escalated.

The day before the lunch, all the new members of the team were told by the seniors that they would have to do a short performance. We were all caught off guard and were brainstorming on what to do, and finally, a colleague brainstormed and came up with a comical version of the famous "jingle bell rock" which we sang and danced to at the lunch....the experience was both embarrassing and something that brought us all closer as friends. 

Also at the lunch, we opened presents that our secret Santa had gotten us, I was a really fun experience. Each of the employees was also given a present and awards by the CEO of the company. I was shocked and honored at the same time to receive not only a present but also to hear great words of praise from the CEO about my time at Perception Management. I learnt that day that getting to know your co-workers and maintaining good relationships is a key to a successful team and provides you with a consistent motivation to excel at work, not only because you want to do great but also because you do not want to let your team down.
