Tenby International School Open Day 2013 & Welcome Back to School!

Hello Everyone!

Previously, I have shared the post about my experience in preparing for the Open day event. So, today I am going to talk about Tenby International Open Day 2013. I supposed some of you here might have forgotten about it or still do not know what is going on. So, before I proceed to the Open day event, I will first briefly explain what Tenby International School is about and also I will have to recall of what I have done so far in the preparation for Tenby International School Open Day.

Tenby International School is a private Malaysian school which is originally from Ipoh, Malaysia. It offers and teaches children from early years, kindergarten, primary and secondary students, from 4 to 16 years old. Most of them are foreigners which come from overseas such as Japan, Korea, Netherlands, South Africa, England, Scotland, Nigeria and etc.

Mr. Phillip Brisley is the principal of Tenby International School, Miri and he is also the Director of Tenby Schools. It is the first international and private Malaysian school in Miri, Sarawak and the school is relocated to its current location, from the old Piasau campus to Desa Senadin.
A couple weeks ago, the staffs and teachers in charge, were busy unpacking boxes and preparing their classrooms for the students. Meanwhile we were rushing to get the job done, including all the design and documentation of event plan. We need to perform, deliver and be reliable in order to gain trust from our clients.
The big day has finally arrived! Open day was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. We arrived at the office at 8 a.m. to ensure that all final preparations are done, while awaiting the arrival of parents and students dropping by to visit the new campus. All the staffs and including us, the interns are looking forward to welcoming the parents and students on Tuesday, 27th August.
The purposes of Tenby Open Day is to raise awareness of Tenby International School branding itself and allow the current and new parents to have a look around the beautiful new campus, new facilities, meeting new teachers and staffs. They will get a feel for what will be a great learning environment for all the students at Tenby International School.
On the actual day, all of us were busy assisted in handling the parents and visitors. All the admin staffs and my supervisor were very busy entertained with the parents and visitors in the office. My interns colleagues and I were helping them out with the class registration, enrolment and touring them around the new campus. Leaflet which designed by me, was prepared and given out to the parents and visitors so that they have something to refer to.  I personally think that it is quite useful to have it so that the parents have something to refer back in case they might have forgotten about the important details which they have asked earlier.

The leaflet which provided has included with basic information about the school, such as contact details and map at Tenby International School Miri.

I have learned a lot from the people there and communicate better with different types of people. . I am very grateful to be able to learn from my supervisor, Esther and also I want to thank her for willing to give me such opportunity to participate in the Open day event during my internship!

Feel free to enjoy the pictures below :)

Hi Peiling,
Besides enhancing the branding of the school itself, are there any Corporate Social Responsibility activities conducted by Tenby?Like Curtin there are old computers and chairs donated to the NGO community.

Regard,
kim

Hi Kim,

Thank you for commenting in my blog post :)

Yes, they do. Previously, the school has made a donation of some old story books given out as charity to the NGO community in Miri.

And the highlight is that Tenby International School in Miri is still very new so it was a great opportunity to be able to promote the brand of school on Curtin Sarawak Open Day 2013 in order to let more people in Miri to know about the school.
