Hello everyone, I am Kwang Yun Sheng, people call me Vincent. Currently I am doing my internship in Hyatt Regency Kinabalu in Marketing Communication department which also known as PR.
My first few days in Hyatt Regency Kinabalu was quite informative. This is because the first three days were my orientation. I learnt about the structure of the hotel, the products and services, the security, how to speak to a guest and so on. I get to visit some of the rooms in Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, I got the opportunity to visit Executive Suite and Regency Club Room. Hotel industry is a hospitality industry which focus on giving the guest the feeling of home and being well taken care of. This is what the staff will have to do.
I started my internship on 2nd of December 2013. Well, sorry for the late update. There are many nice people to work with in Hyatt Regency Kinabalu. Moreover, they demonstrate the true HYATT value in them, which are
1. Mutual Respect
2. Intellectual Honesty and Integrity
3. Humility
4. Fun
5. Creativity and Innovation
One thing very interesting about Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is what normally people reply when receiving thank you from others would be welcome, but in Hyatt, they replied in a way that could make the guest feel honorable, which is, "you are more than welcome". This really impressed me, like how words can be so influential, especially in public relations industry. That's all for the first blog. See you all next time!
