Mandarin Oranges for Chinese New Year!

It's another new year - Chinese New Year! The scent of mandarin oranges can still be smelt once you entered the Sales and PR department office. Why is that so? The team has been busy packing mandarin oranges into baskets where they personally sent these baskets of oranges and angpows to companies around Miri. These companies were determined to be clients of Imperial Hotel all this while. This was an opportunity to reach out as a CSR programme.

The process of packaging the mandarin oranges & angpows.

Everyone in a team is given a list of companies on where they are required to send and the dates they are scheduled to send it. Before they personally distribute the Chinese New Year gift, the individual has to contact the respective companies telling them that they will be delivering the Chinese New Year gift to their offices. This is a formal way of presenting themselves as a professional Sales and Public Relations person.

In a way, this is a good PR strategy in conjunction to the celebration. It was also an excellent external communication link between the two companies. When they sent the oranges, they can spend some time to know more about the different companies and at the same time, promoting their events or products of the hotel, maintaining a good relationship with the companies.

For all those who are celebrating Chinese New Year, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !

Happy Chinese New Year to you, Jiachyi :) I think the "right timing" like festival or celebration is the best time to reach out the stakeholders and can maintain a long lasting good relationship with them. My company also giving out Christmas gifts to various media outlets during Christmas season."Timing" could be said is important while executing a CSR project smoothly in order to give back the community with meaningful messages which can enhance the corporate image effectively.
