The meeting was participated by all the sales managers, Director of Sales, Director of Sales and Marketing and Reservation Department's head. The meeting was hosted by Revenue Manager, Ms Ivin Yee. The purpose of having the revenue meeting every week is to evaluate and keep updated with the things and performance of the hotel.
There are several things discussed in the meeting
1. Forecast- Looking into the future demands
2. Occupancy- Current and future occupancy of hotel
3. Future market segment- different countries of tourist
4. Strategy- Price, extra value....
Due to the confidentiality of the content, I was told not to disclose any information from the meeting to anyone. However, I would like to discuss something. In the year 2015, there would be two five stars hotel penetrate in Kota Kinabalu's market. Soon that time, the competition of hotel industry would be greater, but competition makes improvement so let's wait and see. The two five star hotels are Marriot and Hilton.
In hotel industry, besides fullfilling the demands of the market, it also required the hoteliers to keep up to date information and always look for potential business. This is how the hotel stays in the game. Like the government sectors, private sectors, tourism sectors are all business prospect for a hotel.

Thank you for the sharing, is very nice to have the opportunities to explore in that kind of occasion. Even though, I didn't have the chance to participate in their revenue meeting during my internship period, but I did contribute my research skills while doing the competitor analysis for the budget report.
