Internship in a Production Company

Hello friends!

I was able to obtain this great internship in a production company called 'Caméléon Production'. This company is an audiovisual production company based in Mauritius which was created in 2001 by a Mauritian director called David Constantin. The company offers production services in the Indian Ocean to international productions such as documentaries, short films, feature films and corporate videos.

First of all, let me explain to you how I got this internship which has a lot to do with PR itself. Last year, I was hired as assistant location manager on David Constantin's first feature film entitled 'Lonbraz Kann' which stands for Sugarcane Shadows in Mauritian Creole.

Clap of Sugarcane Shadows
The duration of my contract was a month and a half which was the time the film took to complete production and I have to say I enjoyed every minute of this incredible experience. Believe it or not, the job itself had a lot to do in terms of PR internally, the most valuable lesson I learned in this professional field is that you should treat people the way they wanted to be treated. Since everyone involved in this project treated me fantastically, I did my best to treat them as good as they treated me. Also most of the time, in many film productions, most people just keep it strictly professional therefore are not willing to do more that is expected from them in terms of their tasks. But by going the 'extra mile' as they say by doing more tasks than you're asked to in an efficient manner, you show your professionalism and your enthusiasm for the project which is much more valuable to your superiors.

I am grateful to David for having given me an opportunity to further explore my passion in depth by analyzing the activities involved in the production process of a feature film. My task which has been assigned to me during the course of my internship will be the setting up of the credits of the feature film by working closely with producer Elise Mignot. Now you may believe that this may not be PR related but believe me the importance and the making of credits itself has to do with PR which I will elaborate with you guys in my next blog post. See you soon.
