The 3 Rs Project done at the Hennessy Park Hotel (kitchen)

Engaged as a PR officer trainee in the administration department
of the kitchen, the Chef was expecting a lot from me. Indeed going there three
days per week, I did my routine works such as filings and sticking programs on
the kitchen’s board. On the other hand, the contract includes the set up of
projects each week and communicates it to the stakeholders.
My first PR responsibility was to launch the “3 Rs project” meaning Reuse, Reduce
and Reproduce.
This project will aware all stakeholders of the kitchen to act
more ethically. They got the opportunity to listen to a speech where it proposed
new ways to proceed about goods and activities. During the daily meeting at 15hr00 I discussed
about all these:
Reuse the disposal of
anything and to consider whether it has life left in it e.g. a jam jar can
store leftovers. Food scraps can become compost. Returnable bottles can be,
well returned. Reusing keeps new
resources from being used for a while longer, and old resources from entering
the waste stream.
Reduce goods made with toxic
materials, such as most household cleansers. Cut
back on water use
at the kitchen, waste less energy on lights and
equipment.
Recycle. For example the 3
bins concept such as Plastic, glass and paper, that some factories accept to
take for recycling. The whole render its garbage as useful to be more
sustainable.
