Ah, the Annual General Meeting of Clubs WA. What can I say
about it?
You may have read our fellow intern Holly Hazel’s post
talking about how she had been handling and planning this event. For my part, I
had many menial tasks (compared with Holly's task as the event planner), which
are essential to be taken through the event.
As with good planning, all Clubs WA staffs including interns
had a meeting two days before it all begins, assigning each to many different
tasks. I was assigned to mainly to taking photographs and setting the needed equipment
and furniture of the whole events. In essence, it is like a volunteering
help-out job, yet I gladly took this job as everyone got involved in many other
things at some point of the day.
Right on the day, I came to the venue in Bull Creek at 8am.
Once there, things get busy right away. We had to prepare for all furniture in
place, and ensure everything goes alright. Around 9.30am, club leaders came in
to join in workshops. These workshops have been delegated for extra lessons on
good governance and/or workplace relation of the club industry. After it ended
at 12pm, I had to usher all people going to AGM. I do all sort of things that
is needed to be done during the whole AGM.
Overall, it was a great event where professionalism have
been expected from the start to end. I was able to cope with all the stress,
preparations and ushering. In the end, this event has rewarded me with the
professionalism I have contributed as one of the team members of the AGM.
This is my final blog. Thank you for reading my blogs, and I
hope that you will also enjoy your pathway to your PR career. I wish you all
the best!
