Adding to my experience in Mauritius.

Finally finished my last day of the internship this week and I have indeed enjoyed my experience. Needless to say it played a role in adding to my experience in Mauritius. My days at Maluti communications were very helpful in building me up and giving me additional information about public relations. As the company focuses on financial communication apart from crisis communications, it was helpful to note that the experience led me to conclude that basic background knowledge on corporate PR is useful. I had not had the chance to do this module hence it was good to note that it is a helpful module if one desires to be a Public Relations practitioner.

The best part about my internship was being in the presence of fellow interns. This was helpful as it allowed the experience of teamwork. Teamwork is very important in Public Relations and is part of Public relation itself. Like they say two heads are better than one and in the case of Public relations a whole team of consultants is better than one PR consultant only.

The task assigned to me such as media updates and Facebook update ideas all contributed to my experience. In this modern world its good to note that social media is very useful when it comes to communicating to the public. Hence social media is very useful to public relations officers.

Of course there has been times when the clients has visited the Maluti communications for meetings.
To be noted would be their courteousness towards the clients. This is important to note as building a relationship with the client is important as serving the client. This keeps the Public relations Company and their clients on a good communication basis.

To end my last blog post for this unit I would like to acknowledge how it has been helpful for me to experience this internship and how it has been quite helpful in giving me an insight into the world of public relations.

It has been a good experience at Maluti communications and mainly i have had the chance to gain new Acqaintance and experience in a work place. i also have to admit going to the internship every day passing by such a beautiful scenery was a memorable part of my experience:

Hi Hannah,

I'm really glad you enjoyed your internship in Mauritius. It's one of these experiences you would like to start again a million times. Besides, Maluti Communications is a really good PR company. I also enjoyed my placement. It was an amazing experience. Learning all these PR techniques makes you want to go in the working world on the spot. Anyway good luck for the rest. Hope you enjoyed your studies in Mauritius.

Warm regards,

Anne-Clothilde
