After applying
for a few different companies for an internship, I was lucky enough to receive
a response from Skye (Director and Creator of Skye Gilligan Consulting). I met
up with Skye to discuss the position and after talking about the company and
what my role would entail, we decided on a start date.
Skye Gilligan
Consulting is a small marketing consultancy company based in East Perth. Skye
has a large range of clients in different businesses and areas – two way radios,
mining and engineering, electrical and not-for-profit to name a few. In Skyes team, she has a graphic designer, a
web designer, and other PR rep consultant and PA. While the Skye does the
majority of the writing and creative thinking her and her team work well
together to produce a high quality product to her client.
Some of the
examples of the work that I have been doing is; attending client meetings,
phone and skype meetings, proof reading and fact checking, brainstorming ideas
for various client’s employee of the month programs, writing parts of
brochures, editing site maps, drafting questions to ask clients to write parts
of biannual report, etc.
So far, working
with Skye has given me a great insight into what working in PR is like. She has
been a great guide and mentor to me and I cant wait to see what else this internship
brings!
