We Have Launched!
On Monday 25th of May yellowbanana.com.au
officially opened its doors to the public and our team is flat out getting our
name out there.
It’s been a busy week, Tuesday afternoon I sent out
fifty-two media releases to local papers and just today we are all about
following up and seeking replies. It was really scary actually sending the
media releases out where real journalists could read and criticise them especially
when it’s so important to get media coverage in order for the website to be
successful.
Prior to the launch I was tasked with creating a simple
graphic to use on our social media pages. I found this really hard as I haven’t
used Photoshop or any other similar program since my first semester at uni in
2012. My mentor Jess really encouraged me to have a go and I’m happy with the
end result.
Now I’m working on creating a welcome video with the CEO and
my Mentor Jess. The video is Jess telling us why she came up with
yellowbanana.com.au and welcome to the site. This is crucial because I’ll be
running the companies YouTube and Instagram accounts as well as continue to
help run the Facebook ad Twitter.
I feel like I’ve been thrown in the deep end so I’m nervous
and eager at the same time. This week has really opened my eyes and I am
becoming more and more aware of the importance of a good PR campaign and being
confident to get your name known.
Now I have to find a banana costume for a publicity stunt.

Hi Hannah,
Its vey exciting to actually get in touch with real journalists where they can criticise your work. It is a lot of pressure but I am sure you are enjoying every bit of it as I did.
Hope you have a good time working on the video. You'll definitely learn more softwares during the video.
All the best for your future,
Saket.
