As we have
arrived at the end of semester, I have a chance to look back and reflect. I
have finished my internship at Skye Gilligan Consulting and the final touches
are being made on the final report. This being my last full semester of my
commerce degree I am able to look back and say that it has been a great
experience and I have learnt so much along the way.
The internship
has taught me so much about the work place and the ‘real world’, which can be
hard to comprehend whilst in university. I have had the privilege to work with
a great team and create great relationships along the way. My supervisor for
the past few months - Skye, has been such a great help and guide to me and made
me feel like part of the team.
I have so many
great memories and I feel as though this experience has helped me realize that
I enjoy and would prefer working in a consultancy and work on different tasks
for different clients rather then an in-house PR position.
I’m looking
forward to moving forward into the workplace and extending on all of the
information I have gained. I’m looking forward to the future and what it holds.
Signing out for
the last time,
Gillian

Hi Gillian,
congratulations on wrapping up your secondment and your degree. It certainly sounds like you benefited a lot from your work experience at the consultancy firm. I never considered doing my secondment at a consultancy but your placement sounds like it was very supportive workplace.
I did my work experience at the Water Corporation. It has been my place of work for last six years, but I feel very privilege to be able to work in our communications department, having previously come from a finance background.
Congratulations again and I wish you luck in your future PR endeavours.
All the best,
Liss
