My first day

Hello people!!

I am currently undergoing an internship at LUX le Morne, working under the PR manager there. Being able to see the beach everyday made it more joyful for me to go to work and the people there are showing their enthusiasm to work with me.  They welcomed me with opened arms and I feel very grateful for that. I have been trying to know in which way I will go after my degree and doing my PR internship greatly contributes to my orientation phase. I guess PR will be the perfect job for me in the future as working in contact with the public and not having a sort of routine everyday is the best thing I could do as a career. Waking up everyday, telling myself that I am going to work in the Public Relation fields will just be pure bliss !

Picture I took at LUX Le Morne during my internship.

My path there is quite interesting and entertaining. The first day was simply amazing. They have a program there where every one of them has to do energy training, which was pretty amazing.  The training consists of lots of talk and games about which energy and attitude you should have when one is surrounded with peoples. For example, we should always stick to our blue energy instead of releasing too much of red energy.

The blue energy is our positive one. Always smiling and welcoming others whereas our red energy is the one we release when we are angry or bored and don’t want to do anything. Keeping our blue energy makes the day better and more enjoyable. The games we did were greatly interesting and captivating and helped me connect and interact with many people on my first day, which helped me through out my internship.  Having the right attitude in public is the key of PR.

The first day was as fascinating as that, yes! It made it easier for me to be motivated during the internship; I kept my blue energy all the way.

How was your first day?

Wow Remena! It looks like you had an amazing first day, and I'm sure this will be a valuable experience for you in the future.

I was very interested in the 'Blue Energy' and 'Red Energy' mentioned in your blog. I started thinking about how the way we feel can affect the way we communicate. In PR the way we speak and the tone of our writing can have a massive affect on the message and it's interpretation by the target public. With this in mind, more research should be done on the connection between corporate culture, emotion, and PR communication. I believe a positive message written with a bad mood will not be as successful.

By the way, I'm very jealous of you workplace! Is this an internship or a holiday.
