As of Friday I will have completed my 20 days at my placement. Whilst I plan on staying on for a little while, I really feel what I have learnt over these last few months is invaluable. My understanding of the practical side of public relations has increased hugely. I also feel my general skills have been refined and honed, especially my media release writing abilities!
I highly recommend this unit to anyone wishing to work in the public relations industry. I had a job interview today at a P.R. consultancy and had a conversation with one of the account manager's. She told me it took her TWO YEARS after graduating to get a job! When she was at uni there was no unit of this kind, so she finished her degree with lots of theory knowledge but no hands on experience. We are lucky to have had this fantastic opportunity handed to us. I for one definitely plan on making the most of it and using it to my advantage.
I wish everyone the best of luck in the rest of this unit. I finished writing my report today, so fingers crossed it will be ready to hand in Monday.
