Final day coming soon

Hi all,

my final days working for my placement is almost here. So far, I have done media releases, feature articles, media distribution lists and contacting journalists, editors and clients (there are really challenging clients out there) and helping out by doing a few easy stuff (which is not PR related). I was hoping to do some event management, but unfortunately they do not have any event happening during my placement there. Anyway, this experience has been an eye opener for me. I really got to see how is the real world like in a PR related field. Just want to take this opportunity to thank the lecturers (even though they may not see this) for imparting all these skills to equip us for this.

Hi Connie,
I'm Priscika from Mauritius and i'm actually doing my internship at Nomad which is an ISP. I am really enjoying it.
So, you are nearly over with it. All the work you did about media dounds really interesting. I would have liked to do some stuff regarding media too. But this is not very frequent at Nomad, except when they are having launches. I would like to know about how you managed to establish media networks with journalists etc. Is it an easy task over there? Are journalists not too demanding?
You can check out my posts for more details about my experience. Good luc with your work and revision.
Regards,
Pris

It’s fantastic to hear that you have enjoyed your placement, Connie – and that it has acted as an eye opener. I am glad to hear that we have equipped you with some useful skills and will pass on your kind remarks (just in case the rest of the PR academic team is to busy marking and doesn’t get a chance to stay up to date with the blog).

All the best for your future career, Connie
