Bringing the new to the old

Though i have been around in EON for quite some time now, this is actually the first time that we are moving into the PR direction to garner companies and other publics support to bring our corporate membership to another level. Since we have introduced a new membership service known as EON shared services where companies get to enhance their employee welfare scheme for value for money and yet able to motivate their employees to perform better and attract talented ones to join them .

Though such a service is the first of its kind in the HR market, we have been utilising the conventional old school marketing methods to bring awareness to the public as well as educating the benefits of such a service. Hence, the decision for us to move into the PR light to render more support and mark the service as the first of its kind in history.

My responsibilities in this mini project is to develop a concise yet effective Public Relations plan for 6 months. However, through previous experience with client based projects done for past PR modules, it is made known that 6 months is insufficient for render any substaintial results hence i have prolonged the plan to a slightly longer duration. Right now, the plan is more or less approved and we are on our way to implementing the strategies and tactics proposed. :)

Now, I cant't wait to see my first ever article being published in one of the proposed magazines. I am glad that the journalist loved the idea and the article as much as I do and is excited to publish it altogether. However, as what was taught during our usual PR lessons, the journalist would prefer my boss to be spokesperson of my article. Still, it is gratifying to have your work accepted. :)

It is satisfying to see that your hard work is starting to pay off and that what we have all been learning in class is put to good use in my workplace. Hope to see more of such stuff to come.
